A Strategic Alliance: ASUS and NVIDIA

At the heart of ASUS’ innovative leap is its collaboration with NVIDIA, a partnership that combines ASUS’ hardware expertise with NVIDIA’s leadership in AI chip technology. The synergy between these two tech giants is showcased at the NVIDIA GTC 2024 AI developer conference in San Jose, CA, where IT leaders can explore how ASUS servers, based on NVIDIA’s MGX server reference architecture, are engineered for peak performance and data center integration.

ASUS’ adoption of NVIDIA’s MGX Server reference architecture paves the way for a new line of AI and high-performance computing servers. These are not just servers but powerhouses of accelerated computing, designed to fully exploit NVIDIA’s latest technological advancements. The architecture allows for a mix of GPU, DPU, and CPU options, ensuring that ASUS servers can meet a wide range of specific workloads.

The ASUS AI Server Lineup

ASUS’ new AI server lineup is a testament to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. With NVIDIA’s cutting-edge technology at their core, these servers are built to harness the full potential of the Grace Hopper Superchip, the Grace CPU Superchip, and NVIDIA’s NVLink–C2C. This integration facilitates a seamless, direct GPU-to-GPU mesh interconnect within the server, scaling multi-GPU input/output (IO) capabilities to new heights.

Enhancing Server Performance: ASUS’ Three Core Capabilities

ASUS has not only embraced NVIDIA’s technology but has also developed three key capabilities to further enhance server performance:

  1. Performance Boost Technology: “The Core Optimizer maximizes the processor frequency in multi-core operations, minimizing frequency jitter in all cores. The result: reduced latency,” ASUS reports. Additionally, the Engine Boost and Workload Presets are innovations designed to improve overall server performance and match specific applications to enhance efficiency.
  2. Advanced Cooling Solutions: The shift towards liquid cooling represents ASUS’ response to the high heat output of AI systems. “Liquid cooling’s much higher thermal efficiency improves the data center’s power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratio,” ASUS states, emphasizing the importance of efficient cooling in maintaining system performance.
  3. Optimized Software: Perhaps one of the most significant advancements is the inclusion of a no-code AI platform within ASUS servers. This platform is designed to streamline AI development, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes without the need to start from scratch.

Committed to technological advancement…

ASUS’ unveiling of its AI servers, optimized for NVIDIA’s modular architecture, represents a significant milestone in the evolution of AI technology deployment. By combining powerful hardware with sophisticated cooling and software optimizations, ASUS is setting a new standard for performance, scalability, and efficiency in AI servers. This innovation not only highlights the company’s commitment to technological advancement but also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

We invite our readers to delve into the details of ASUS’ new AI server offerings and explore how these technologies can transform their own IT and AI deployments.
